Mercedes-Benz A-Class (13 - present)
They made major changes when they designed the latest A-Class. Everything from the ground up is new. Certainly the shape has been toned down and looks more modern to compete with the likes of the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series. The cabin is really smart now and there is a nice comfortable feel to it. There is a big spread of standard equipment and most elements are well laid out and easy to use. The seats and driving position make it feel much sportier. It is far more fun to drive now and handles quite well. There is a decent range of petrol and diesel engines, each economical and efficient. They don’t cost a fortune to keep on the road either.

• Feels sporty behind the wheel and is good to drive
• It is much better looking than the previous model
• The interior is top-quality
• There are some efficient and strong engines
• It feels refined and comfortable on the move
