The new CUPRA Ateca crossover (pictured) will cost from €49,990 when it goes on sale in the new year.
This the first performance SUV from the new CUPRA brand.
Anyone so inclined can order one now.
There will be test drives at the only specialist CUPRA dealer in Ireland – Airside, Dublin – from January.
Powering the car is a turbocharged, direct-injection, 4cyl 2-litre TSI petrol engine that pumps 300hp and develops 400Nm of torque. There is a 7spd DSG transmission and 4Drive all-wheel drive.
It will be interesting to see public reaction to it when it arrives.
