Frank Keane Volkswagen opens new showroom in Sandyford

The Frank Keane Group has opened a new Volkswagen showroom in Sandyford, south Dublin. The occasion was marked by a VIP opening event attended by over 400 guests, showcasing the impressive 2,500 sq. m Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles retail outlets. The state-of-the-art facilities are situated on 1.75 acres and were specially designed to align with Volkswagen's corporate identity.

The new showrooms offer ample space for more than 20 vehicles, house 15 workshop ramps, and include a dedicated valeting center. The expansion has also seen the workforce at Frank Keane grow, now employing over 60 people. Across their Volkswagen operations in Dublin, they provide  more than 140 jobs.

The new facilities have been well prepared for the future, hosting a total of 17 DC and AC electric chargers. The infrastructure is designed to support a future increase of over 100% in electric vehicle capabilities.

Founder Frank Keane, celebrating his 90th birthday, was honored with specially commissioned paintings to mark this remarkable milestone. On the same day, he personally sold a brand new Volkswagen T-Roc, showcasing the enduring success that has defined more than five decades of automotive excellence.

Billy Riordan, CEO of Frank Keane Holdings Limited, expressed the team's dedication in making this dealership a reality and their excitement in sharing it with loyal customers. He highlighted Volkswagen's rich history of producing reliable and innovative vehicles, ranging from the iconic Beetle to the cutting-edge ID.4 and eye-catching ID Buzz, emphasizing the brand's leadership in automotive technology.

The event was graced by broadcasting legend Pat Kenny, a personal friend of Frank Keane, who shared nostalgic tales of his Volkswagen Beetle driving days. Guests also had the opportunity to admire the Irish Car of the Year and Irish Van of the Year-winning ID. Buzz, while a string quartet provided a melodious backdrop.

Alan Bateson, Brand Director for Volkswagen Passenger Cars Ireland, presented Frank Keane with the special commissioned paintings, commending Frank Keane Group's commitment to excellence. Bateson praised Frank Keane's enduring leadership in the Irish automotive sector and acknowledged the group's status as a cherished member of the larger Volkswagen family.
