The new BMW 5 Series is introducing the all-electric i5 Touring model for the first time, alongside the plug-in hybrid model set to arrive in summer 2024. The sixth generation of the BMW 5 Series Touring boasts larger dimensions and modern interior design updates, featuring innovations like the BMW Curved Display and BMW Interaction Bar.
Now available for order in Ireland, the i5 variant starts at €92,880. This model marks a significant evolution in the BMW 5 Series Touring, emphasizing digital advancements, automated driving and parking systems, increased sustainability throughout its lifecycle, and the debut of an all-electric drive with the BMW i5 Touring. The new BMW 5 Series Touring is positioned as a versatile and sophisticated option for everyday driving and touring, offering a blend of stylish presence, sportiness, versatility, and spacious comfort.
With slightly larger exterior dimensions than its predecessor, the new BMW 5 Series Touring showcases dynamically stretched proportions and enhanced space in both rows of seats. The flexible drive architecture allows for the production of model variants with efficient combustion engines, plug-in hybrid systems, and purely electric drive systems on the same production line at the BMW Group's Dingolfing plant.
In Ireland, the new BMW 5 Series Touring will be available in four trim levels – Sport Edition, M Sport, M Sport Pro, and the top-tier BMW i5 M60 model. Ireland is considered a key market for the model, with the all-electric variant launching in May 2024 and the plug-in hybrid option arriving later in the year.
