Kia drivers in Ireland now have access to over 4,500 public chargers
Electric vehicle ownership just got easier for Kia drivers in Ireland. The brand’s public charging service — Kia Charge — now offers access to over 4,500 charging points across Ireland, and more than 900,000 locations across Europe, all through a single card and app.
In Ireland, Kia Charge users can access a wide range of charging networks including ESB, Ionity, EasyGo, ePower, and Applegreen, offering excellent coverage nationwide.
Kia Ireland has introduced a fixed public charging rate of just €0.50 per kWh (excluding Ionity) through its new Advanced plan. This change is designed to bring clarity and consistency to EV charging costs — something many drivers have been calling for.
Adam Fogarty, Head of Network Development at Kia Ireland, said:
“Kia continues to set the benchmark for making electric driving more accessible. Our expanded Kia Charge offering simplifies and enhances every journey, and we expect to announce more initiatives in the coming months.”
Kia Charge now offers two easy-to-understand plans, depending on how often you rely on public charging:
Easy Plan (No monthly fee)
€0.76 per kWh for AC and DC charging
€0.59 session fee per use
Ideal for those who mostly charge at home or work
Overstay fee: €0.50 per minute after 10 hours on AC or 45 minutes on DC
Advanced Plan (€4.99 per month)
€0.50 per kWh for AC and DC charging
No session fees
Best suited to those who regularly use public chargers
Same overstay conditions apply
Both plans include access to Ionity’s high-power network at €0.73 per kWh. For frequent Ionity users, a separate Ionity subscription is available for €7.49/month, reducing the rate to €0.53 per kWh.
With a growing number of electric vehicles on Irish roads, the need for reliable and affordable public charging has never been greater. Kia Charge delivers on both — offering scale, simplicity and value.
Fogarty added:
“We really believe that this enhancement to Kia Charge will help some uncertain customers to make the step to electric motoring.”
