The latest Mercedes C-Class is due here in September.

Overview

New C-ClassTHE latest Mercedes C-Class (pictured) has just been unveiled.

It is due here in September with a broad range of engines, and in saloon and estate body styles.

They say there is more internal room and a serious upgrade in the infotainment system (latest-gen MBUX and ‘Hey Mercedes’ multimedia).

Information is displayed on screens that can be individualised in navigation, assistance and service modes and in three display styles: discreet, sporty and classic.

The new C-Class is longer and wider, with a 25mm extended wheelbase for more cabin room.

There will be five petrol and three diesel versions from launch. Plug-in hybrid versions with an electric range of 100kms are due later.

Big sellers here are likely to be the C180 and C200d. Prices will be revealed nearer the September launch.

They say the car borrows heavily from the flagship S-Class, describing it as “a first-tier offering in the luxury segment”.

There is a new suspension and optional rear-axle steering at speeds below 60kmh.

And as you’d expect, there are myriad new-gen driving assistance elements.
