Subaru has given its Forester crossover an overhaul inside and out.

The biggest changes to the exterior are a new grille mesh, wraparound headlamps and LED combination lamps at the rear.

Subaru claims the inside gets better materials, higher-resolution TFT displays and new upholstery – leather is an option.

They have also helped quieten the cabin by having thicker glass on every door as well as the front quarter-lights at the base of the front pillar to reduce wind noise.

New seals around the window frames are designed to absorb more noise.

Prices start from €36,995 (2.0 diesel, 147PS) model.

Higher spec versions have LED lights with an adaptive front lighting system.

Standard spec includes twin front, side, curtain and knee airbags, electronic stability control (with trailer stability) and of course All-Wheel-Drive (AWD).

Subaru also says they have also improved the suspension settings and put in a new steering gearbox.

A 6spd manual transmission is standard on 2.0D models.

A Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is an option on the diesels.

However, it comes as standard on the 2-litre petrol versions.
