SUZUKI's new Swift Sport goes on sale next month.
SUZUKI's new Swift Sport goes on sale next month after its major launch here recently.
Powered by a 1.4-litre 140PS 4cyl Boosterjet turbo petrol, it manages 44pc more pulling power than the previous model, according to Suzuki.
They claim the 1.4-litre has the same level of power and torque as a 2-litre normally aspirated engine.
Their stats claim it can go from a standing start to 100kmh in 8.1 seconds.
Helping out on that front is the fact it is 70kg lighter than the previous one (new Sport weighs 975kg).
Standard spec includes adaptive cruise control, auto air con, six airbags, DAB radio, smartphone link display audio, rear view camera, front fog lamps, sat nav, LED headlamps, 17ins alloys, and lane departure prevention etc.
The Swift Sport is the fourth model (following Baleno, IGNIS and Swift) to be built on the company's new lightweight platform in Europe.
The new Sport is 50mm longer than the standard Swift and sits 15mm lower than the previous sport model.
The new car has a 6spd manual transmission. Sounds like a fun package.
