Group posted record year

Overview

Volkswagen Group Ireland has capped off a landmark 2025, delivering a record 40,950 vehicles and cementing its position as Ireland’s leading automotive group. Representing a 29 per cent share of the new car market, the Group also accounted for more than one in four electric vehicles sold nationwide, underlining its dominance in the transition to electrification.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars retained its status as Ireland’s number one BEV brand, led once again by the ID.4, the country’s best-selling electric car of all time, which topped the EV charts for a fifth consecutive year. Škoda recorded its third successive record year, driven by a three-fold increase in BEV sales, while CUPRA continued its rapid ascent with registrations up 55 per cent. Audi, meanwhile, rolled out its biggest ever product offensive, launching 13 new models in 12 months, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles enjoyed its strongest year in its 18-year history within the Group.

Looking to 2026, Volkswagen Group Ireland plans to launch 20 new models across all brands, powertrains and segments. Highlights include the arrival of CUPRA’s Raval urban EV, a wave of new Volkswagen and Škoda electric and plug-in hybrid models, and Audi’s continued electrification push alongside its debut season in Formula One.

Commenting on the results, CEO and Group Managing Director Pierre Boutin said the performance reflected “the strength of our products, the commitment of our dealer network, and the trust customers have in our brands.” With continued investment in electrification, software, AI and battery technology, Volkswagen Group Ireland enters 2026 with strong momentum and clear ambitions to build on its market-leading position.
