Ford has given its Mondeo a bit of an overhaul for 2019 - as well as adding a hybrid wagon version to go with the current saloon.
And there is now a 2-litre EcoBlue diesel and 8spd automatic transmission.
Much of the focus will be on the hybrid estate (403 litres boot; up to 1,508 litres with rear seats folded) - they say the powertrain for their hybrids has been improved.
It develops 187PS and includes a 2-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine, electric motor, generator and 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery.
The power-split automatic transmission, they say, mirrors the performance of a continuously-variable transmission.
Regenerative braking, it is claimed, captures up to 90pc of the energy - normally lost during braking.
No new prices yet.
