Well-established Kildare dealership adds Fiat, Fiat Professional and Jeep to its portfolio
T.P. Waters has been appointed as a main dealer for Fiat, Fiat Professional and Jeep in Kildare Town. The family-owned dealership, which has served the area for over five decades, joins the brands under Gowan Auto – the exclusive distributor of Stellantis brands in Ireland – as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the nationwide dealer network.
The appointment adds three new franchises to T.P. Waters’ offering, which already includes Mazda, and reflects the business’s continued growth and adaptability in a changing motoring landscape. The company, founded in 1971 by Tom Waters and now operated by his sons Peter and TJ, is known locally for its customer-first approach and strong presence in the Kildare market.
Commenting on the partnership, John Saunders, Managing Director of Fiat, Fiat Professional and Jeep Ireland, said the addition of T.P. Waters brings confidence to the brands’ expansion in Ireland. “Their incredibly experienced team are joining the brands at a very exciting time of growth and resurgence. With their strong customer focus and long-established presence in Kildare, this partnership creates a great opportunity for our brands in the area.”
Peter Waters, Managing Director of T.P. Waters, described the partnership as a strong strategic fit. “Fiat, Jeep and Fiat Professional are iconic global brands, and we know it’s an excellent fit for our business and customer base. Being part of the Stellantis group allows us to grow our business and offer a wider range of innovative and reliable vehicles, particularly in the light commercial segment.”
The appointment comes amid a period of investment and expansion for Gowan Auto, which recently opened a new premises in Citywest, Dublin. The move aims to support further growth across its dealership network and better serve its expanding portfolio of brands, which includes Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS, Honda, Opel and Peugeot, in addition to Fiat, Jeep and Fiat Professional.
